Here are some more quick character sketches I did of little Madra… Madra mcGoo, Madra Madrigal, Madra Schmadra? Anyone have any suggestions for her last name?

In response to my friend Dennis’s drawing a day challenge is this little surfer girl. Technically I guess I started a couple days ago, but forgot to post a sketch yesterday. Oops! Anyway, it’s a nice break from the storyboards I’m currently working on. This little girl was inspired by the lovely sunny weather we’re having in Portland right now. Summer, are you here already? Yeah, if summer was 50 degrees and book-ended by weeks of rain.

Here is another sketch of the characters in the short I’m working on.
Holy crap it’s been a long time since I last posted. I’ve been working hard on some storyboards and designs for my thesis film. I’m not ready to share those quite yet, but I will tell you the theme is fear. Here’s another quick sketch I did related to that same theme.

I’m developing the main character for a short film. I think he will be a shy little kid with an overactive imagination- a bit of a sad, nervous loner. Saw this little girl at Oak’s Park yesterday and immediately thought of my main character. She looked so sad and weird I had to try to draw her. Here she is.
