Looking for an easy Valentine's Day Craft? Have a silly kid and a boatload of Valentines cards to make? If making homemade Valentine's cards for your kid's class sounds like a fun idea, but glitter gives you hives and your kid is not the type of kid who will sit for hours drawing hearts for every single kid in their class (mine usually get through one), then this funny Valentine craft might be for you. These valentines cards are fun, goofy, easy, and you probably already have most, if not all of the supplies on hand. The concept is not revolutionary, but sometimes the simplest ideas are the best jumping off point for maximum creativity.

Supplies for Eye Love You Valentines

- scissors

- old magazines or newspapers (We used Old Ranger Rick magazines)

- construction paper or card stock (pink and red if you want to stick with traditional valentines colors, but any and every color will do)

- googly eyes - these can be bought in bulk at any craft store and I think they should be a staple in every household

- glue stick

- pen

- White or multicolored 3" x 5" index cards (you can cut down your cardstock or use construction paper)

Directions for Eye Love You Valentines

  1. Look through your magazines for pictures that will fit well on your index cards. Pictures of animals work well, but so do people and even inanimate objects like cars, blenders, and food. Cut out a variety of photos or stick with a theme.

  2. Cut out a bunch of hears in a variety of colors and sizes. For quick and easy hearts, stack a few sheets of paper together and fold them in half. Draw half hearts on the crease and then cut them out.

  3. Use the glue stick to glue a photo and a heart to each index card. Play around with the placement of the heart and photo and size contrast. What about a large photo with a really small heart or a smaller photo with a large heart. What about multiple hearts or more than one photo on a card?

  4. Stick the googly eyes to the photo. Some googly eyes have sticker backs or you may have to use the glue stick or a tiny dot of white glue. Each photo should have a pair of googly eyes.

  5. Have fun thinking of Valentines puns or eye puns to write on your cards.

  6. Your Eye Love You Valentine Craft is done! Wasn't that easy and fun? Write a special message on it and sign your name.
